From a nutritional point of view, ice cream is an excellent "food supplement", it induces a feeling of satiety.

Fruit or cream?

The nutritional value depends on the ingredients. A distinction can be made between fruit and cream ice creams;

the former have a good presence of antioxidant vitamin factors that come from fruit, while those with cream have a richer composition, with a good supply of high biological value milk or egg proteins; easily digestible short-chain fats, mineral salts; calcium and phosphorus, essential components for muscle tissue and vitamins: A (retinol) and B2 (riboflavin).

From a caloric point of view, fruit ice cream has a lower number of calories: 150 kcal per 100 grams. Those with cream 300 kcal on 100 grams.

Perfect for those who play sports

Ice cream particularly meets the needs of those who play sports. The carbohydrates it contains are lactose and sucrose, essential for the metabolism of red blood cells and nervous tissue.
Provides plenty of water, perfect for replenishing water losses lost during movement.
I conclude by saying that even cream ice creams are fine, having a low glycemic index, that is, they slowly raise the glucose content in the blood (glycaemia).
In the case of ice cream, the production of insulin, a hormone secreted by the pancreas by beta cells, is slow and regular, with the result that glucose is absorbed more slowly by the cells that burn it to obtain energy without transforming it into fat.
