THERAPEUTIC GROUP: Vitamin supplements: ascorbic acid
Indications REDOXON ® - Ascorbic Acid
REDOXON ® is a drug used in the treatment of vitamin C deficiency states or in case of increased need.
Mechanism of action REDOXON ® - Ascorbic Acid
REDOXON ® is a vitamin C-based drug, an essential element for the correct development and differentiation of the human organism.
Taken with the diet, mainly through foods of plant origin, it is absorbed already in the oral mucosa and more intensely in the intestinal mucosa, through a diffusion mechanism facilitated by sodium.
Distributed to various fabrics, it is part of:
- Synthesis of collagen, a fundamental protein in the structuring of the extracellular matrix of the various connective tissues;
- Antioxidant response, intervening both directly in the detoxification systems and allowing the regeneration of other elements such as vitamin E;
- Synthesis of carnitine, amino acid derivative necessary to guarantee the correct use of fats for energy purposes;
- Synthesis of steroid hormones and catecholamines, useful in safeguarding the endocrine and metabolic homeostasis of the organism.
Marked deficiency states of this vitamin are therefore responsible for serious symptomatological affections, capable of seriously compromising the patient's health.
